Mary Virgie Toone Watkins, 79, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 13, 2004, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Whitt officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be Tom Hemphill, Jack Minor, Donald Marberry, Carson Thompson, Jerry Moore, and Stanley Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her Grandchildren.
Mrs. Watkins was born on May 11, 1925, in Cash Point, Tennessee, to Thomas Raymond Toone and Susan Louisa Malone Toone. She was of the Baptist faith and loved sewing and flower gardening. She baby sat her grandchildren and other children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Curtis "Bobby" Watkins, a brother, Buddy Toone, and sisters, Elease Luna, Aldeena Faulkenberry, Martha Hemphill, Beatrice Eckstein, and Alma Smith.
Survivors include five sons, Mike (Edith) Watkins, Jerry (Donna) Watkins, and Rickey Watkins, all of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Bobby (Nancy) Watkins of Hohenwald, Tennessee, and Jimmy Watkins of Columbia, Tennessee; six daughters, Patsy (Bill) Brown of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Catha (Gary) Reese of Columbia, Tennessee, Sharon (Tommy) Hargrove, Becky Peete, and Millie (Marty) Middleton, all of Lewisburg, Tennessee, and Sandra (Richard) Fleck of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Grand daughter Tonya Fleck; one sister, Tommie (Harold) Whitt of Ardmore, Alabama; 23 Grandchildren; 26 Great-grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews; and devoted friends, Carol Morgan and family, Mary and Jimmy Weldon, Marilyn & Dallas Victory Kim Victory and family, and Carol & Roy Garrett & Family.
